'That Dance'

Magnificent and regal, a woman performs the Adowa dance during an Ashanti durbar. Her role is known as Adowahemma, and she leads the dance by mimicking the grace of an antelope's movements. Only women perform this dance, yet men may play traditional instruments. Lyrics praise Akan culture and history and are sung by the audience. Nii Dodoo portrays her cloaked in kente cloth in a setting of surreal artistry.
